countdown to the delivery of the lists

The countdown has begun: twelve employees of the Administrative Sector of Palazzo di Città, coordinated by the general secretary Vincenzo Lissa, and the Municipal Police are engaged in the operations of receiving the electoral lists at the Council Room of the Municipality of Avellino. The organizational machine set up by the Prefectural Commissioner Paolo D’Attilio and the sub-commissioner Rosanna Gamerra is already ready to collect lists and documentation of the candidates for the June administrative elections. The lists are awaited until the end of the time allowed for candidates to present the lists, which will then be subjected to scrutiny by the Electoral Subcommission to verify the regularity of subscriptions and various obligations.

Seven candidates for mayor of Avellino are ready to compete through debates, rallies and public meetings, barring last-minute unforeseen events.

Support lists for Antonio Gengaro, candidate of the centre-left, should be four: one from the Democratic Party, which includes some outgoing city councilors such as Ettore Iacovacci, Luca Cipriano, Nicola Giordano, Gennaro Cesa, Marietta Giordano and Franco Russo, even if the presence of the latter is not yet certain. Another list is linked to the 5 Star Movement, a third includes references to Si Pu, Controvento and Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra, and a fourth list which includes references to App, Più Europa and Insieme per Avellino e l’Irpinia.

Laura Nargi is working to define the last candidates of the four lists that will make up its civic coalition. In support of Nargi, there are two lists organized in 2019 by the former mayor Gianluca Festa, “Really” and “Viva la Libertà”, which will include the former councilors Antonio Genovese, Marianna Mazza, Giuseppe Negrone, as well as the outgoing councilors of the two groups of majority. To these we should add Monica Spiezia, elected in opposition in 2019 with the League. Then there are two other lists, one of which is called “We are Avellino”.

The journalist Rino Genovese he recently announced his candidacy for mayor of Avellino on social media, publishing the symbol of the group that will support him, called “Civic Pact for Avellino”. Barring last minute surprises, there should be several lists in support of Genovese: one with references to Forza Italia, a second coordinated by the regional councilor of the Moderates and Reformists, Livio Petitto; a third linked to Primavera Meridionale, a fourth supported by the “Cittadini in Movimento” association and a fifth set up directly by the mayoral candidate, who recently received the support of Noi Moderati. Giuseppe De Mita’s Base Popolare should also be in the support group.

Fratelli d’Italia continues the race with its candidate for mayor, the provincial manager and historic city administrator Modestino Iandoli. Tomorrow afternoon the committee headquarters will also be inaugurated along Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

The Central Union has deployed its provincial coordinator, Gennaro Romeias a candidate for mayor.

Vittorio Boccieri he is the mayoral candidate of the Avellino Futura Project, supported by a civic list.

Finally, there is Dr.’s list Aldo D’Andreainspired by Luigi De Magistris’s DemA movement and which, despite being a civic list, is part of the city’s centre-left.
