Italy, preparation meeting for EuroU17, the players called up

From 13 to 16 May a preparatory stage will be held in Coverciano in view of the under 17 European Championships which will take place in Cyprus starting from 20 May.

Coach Massimiliano Favo has called up 28 players, five of which are under age (the 2008 Camarda, Campaniello, Longoni, Natali and Inácio Piá), while the final group of 20 players will be announced at the end of the six scheduled training sessions.

Poland, Slovakia and Sweden will be Italy’s opponents in group C, on 21, 24 and 27 May respectively. Subsequently possible quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, the latter set for Limassol on 5 June. Reigning champion Germany who, however, will not be able to defend the title having failed to qualify.
