For the third time in a few months the local police of Rho (Milan) surprised and sanctioned an activity that did not comply with the union ordinance limiting the times of use of slot machines and VLTs issued in early 2024.

A fine of 500 euros was notified to the managers of a restaurant in via Garibaldi, where all the slot machines present were found operating in one of the prohibited time slots.

In the city there are 32 businesses where there are gaming machines with cash prizes up for grabs, are checked periodically by the administrative and ration police to verify compliance with the activation times. The checks take place unannounced, at any opening time.

The ordinance was signed on 9 January 2024: it reduces the opening hours of game rooms, VLT rooms, betting shops and the use of slot machines in places that make them available. Gaming activities must be interrupted every day of the week from 7.30am to 9.30am, from 12pm to 2pm and from 7pm to 9pm.
