Everything is ready, a Reggio Calabriafor an important event that will see the presence of an iconic character, one of the best in the history of sport and Italian football: Gigi Buffon. The former goalkeeper of the national team, Juve and Parma, in fact, will be at the Altafiumara Resort tomorrow morning for the Granillo Awardthe usual event organized by the journalist Maurizio Insardà and now in its 6th edition.
Over the years, among the great protagonists of the event there have been the various Michele Uva, the Inter manager Beppe Marotta, the FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, the patron of Bari Luigi De Laurentiis, Evelina Christillin. Now another great guest, the current head of the national delegation and world champion in 2006 with that blue shirt that made the whole country dream and rejoice that summer.
The event will start at 11.30 am. In addition to the creator, there will be the permanent presence of the journalist Italo Cucci and of Oreste Granillo’s daughter, Mariastella. The event, as is known, was created to remember the figure of Granillo, former President of the Reggina but also Mayor of Reggio Calabria and President of the Regional Coni. Today the stadium in the city of Reggio Calabria is named after him, the same one where Buffon played for a lifetime between Parma and Juventus. Now Buffon himself is obviously highly anticipated in the city. It will be his first time on the Strait as a non-footballer. Reggio is thus preparing to welcome another world champion after having welcomed, throughout last year, Pippo Inzaghi.
