Mission successful at Cibus for Confagricoltura Piacenza

The president of Confagricoltura Piacenza Filippo Gasparini and the director Marco Casagrande participated with a large delegation in the inaugural day of Cibus, the international agri-food fair which was held from 7 to 10 May in Parma. Satisfaction for the group who attended the ribbon cutting at the National Confagricoltura stand by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida together with the national president Massimiliano Giansanti and the general director Annamaria Barrile. Also present was the member of the Piacenza national council Giovanna Parmigiani. The panels that followed one another in the Confagricoltura Agora were interesting and immediately on the first day saw, in addition to the participation of Minister Lollobrigida, also the intervention of the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso. The four-day program of events organized by the Confederation is truly very rich. At the centre: PDO, PGI, nutrition, supply chains and production. National and international conferences and projects alternated with tastings and thematic focuses.

Among the events on Tuesday 7th, in the Confagricoltura stand, the presentation of Mediterranea, an association born from the agreement between Confagricoltura and the Italian Food Union to support supply chain projects. The president of Mediterranea, Massimiliano Giansanti and the vice-president, Paolo Barilla, together with the highest institutions, illustrated the work that the newly formed association is carrying out.

The topic of credit instruments to facilitate access to credit for the agri-food chain was one of the focuses of the afternoon together with Crédit Agricole, in a meeting which saw the participation of the general director of Confagricoltura, Annamaria Barrile, and the president of ANGA , Giovanni Gioia.

The protagonist of the first day of the fair was also the volume “The great chefs in a recipe”, a very recent publication edited by Confagricoltura Donna with the contribution of the Piacenza celebrity Isa Mazzocchi.

On Wednesday 8th, among other events, an in-depth discussion with Hubfarm on the digitalisation and sustainability of agri-food supply chains. In the afternoon, models for managing agri-food surpluses for social purposes were discussed with the Food Bank.

On Thursday 9th the Confagricoltura events saw the precious contribution of two female entrepreneurs from Piacenza: the member of the National Council Giovanna Parmigiani intervened as a speaker in the event dedicated to European projects, speaking about the potential of Italian agri-food from an integrated supply chain perspective. It was then the turn of Agriturist and the Italian Cycling Federation, with which an agreement is in place for the sustainable development of tourism also in the internal areas of the country, to then talk about the food and wine excellences offered by the agritourisms. The regional president of Agriturist Gianpietro Bisagni took part in the event together with the Piacenza coordinator of the association Giovanna Montesissa who spoke underlining the development potential of slow tourism combined with good food.

“An event in which there was an air of great interest for Made in Italy and for our supply chains: certainly a very positive figure behind which we can also read a certain strength in demand – comments the president of Confagricoltura Piacenza Filippo Gasparini –. We proudly visited several associated companies starting from the beautiful stand of the Piacenza Alimentare Consortium, where we met the associates Elena and Maurizio Gandini with the products of Orto Al Sole and the Cascina Pizzavacca di Pisaroni company, with the his transformations and the famous gardener. The opportunity was also created to dialogue with the managers of industrial and cooperative entities linked to the association through our producers, their suppliers. An edition of a large international fair – concluded the president of Confagricoltura Piacenza – which looked at the prospects of Italian agri-food from many angles and which we can proudly say also spoke a little Piacenza and – he adds alluding to female entrepreneurs protagonists – with a touch of pink”.
