REGGIO EMILIA – Three months ago there were rumors, not commented on but not denied by the company. Now everything is there: the agreements between the economic subjects involved, the implementation plan of the public initiative, the formal assumption by the council of the capital municipality. The gist is that Max Mara is preparing to invest 110 million euros to double its size its presence in Reggio.
In addition to the headquarters in via Giulia Maramotti, inaugurated in 2003, the group will build a second headquarters, renamed Polo della Moda, in the area of the former Reggio Fairs. All the activities that will converge in via Filangieri belong to the Dedimax company, like Marella, MAX&Co., Pennyblack and iBlues: activities that are now spread across different offices and factories that are no longer able to meet the growth needs of the group. Max Mara has reached an agreement with the entrepreneur Giorgio Bosi for the purchase of the 13 hectares of the Fair area. The current pavilions will be demolished and in their place three buildings will be built, for a total area of 47 thousand square metres, which will host a business center, show rooms and two warehouses. Around 800 people will work in via Filangieri. AND’ the largest private investment ever made in our province. The project will emerge from an international competition which has already been underway for some time and will be completed by July. The approval of the plan is expected for mid-2025, the works will last three years.

But Max Mara’s plans for Reggio don’t end here. In addition to the construction of a logistics structure in Mancasale, recovering abandoned buildings, the group led by Luigi Maramotti has purchased the former Cantina di San Maurizio. Here, next to a factory for the production of coats and jackets, it will be created the Max Mara University of fashion professions, a permanent training center in collaboration with Unimore and local schools.
