Death at work, Vincenzo Valente’s funeral tomorrow

LATIANO – Death at work, Vincenzo Valente’s funeral on Saturday. The funeral of Vincenzo Valente, the worker who tragically lost his life in the Brindisi sugar factory on the night of May 4th, will take place tomorrow in the Mother Church of Latiano at 3.30 pm. The prosecutor returned the body to the family while the Prosecutor’s Office entered two people in the register of suspects in the past few hours. The owner of the company where Valente was an employee and the director of the same sugar factory are accused of aggravated manslaughter, committed in violation of the rules for the prevention of accidents at work. Valente, originally from Latiano in the province of Brindisi, was engaged in some maintenance activities during the night between Friday and Saturday when, for reasons still being ascertained, the tape severed his arm, causing serious bleeding. The investigations are being conducted by Spesal and the Police, and the preventive seizure of the accident area had already been carried out. Tomorrow, on the day of the funeral, the mayor of Latiano Mino Maiorano has proclaimed city mourning.
