Silent Party(R) between books and music at the Cloister of San Domenico in Trapani

On the occasion of the May of Books, next Saturday 11 May, the Municipality of Trapani – Department of Culture,

During the Luglio Musicale Trapani, the Fardelliana Library presents a unique initiative in the evocative Cloister of San Domenico, in Trapani: the Silent Party® which will combine books and music in an enchanting environment.

During the event, which will take place from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm, participants will be able to experience the magic of reading and music, wearing wireless headphones to enjoy a sound and multi-sensory experience. The DJ set will be curated by Ciccio Barbara, who will be able to create atmospheres and rhythms for all musical tastes.

“Cell phones off, music to your ears, books open. This is what will happen during the silent party, in the wake of the phenomenon of literary parties that exploded in the United States. Animated voices will intertwine among the soft lights of a cloister; music will dominate the atmosphere. It will be the books, scattered here and there on the tables, that will attract the attention of the guests. In this corner of timeless sociality, cell phones will be turned off, leaving room only for music and conversations. And so, while the modern world seems to be dominated by technology, in Trapani a silent party offers an oasis of culture and sociality. Between one page and another, new friendships will be born, all united by the love of music and literature” so say Giacomo Tranchida, mayor of Trapani and Rosalia d’Alí, councilor for culture of the Municipality of Trapani.
