The secretary of CNA Imperia, Luciano Vazzano, declares “the support of the Association for the fight against food waste on the occasion of the “Calicis” event at Villa Ormond from 11 to 13 May”.
“Food waste represents one of the most pressing challenges of our time – says Vazzano – with devastating impacts on the environment, economy and society. Every year, tons of food are thrown away, contributing to environmental degradation and worsening global food inequalities. In this context, CNA Imperia is actively involved in raising awareness and taking concrete action to reduce food waste. On the occasion of the “Calicis” event in Sanremo, at Villa Ormond from 11 to 13 May 2024, the Association will highlight its attention and commitment to addressing this fundamental problem. “Calicis” will not only be an opportunity to celebrate the local food and wine culture, but also to promote innovative solutions aimed at reducing food waste. In collaboration with Digital Crafts, CNA Imperia will present “reFOOD” and “reWINE”, initiatives that aim to transform leftover food and wine into good daily practices. The bill on mandatory doggy bags currently under discussion in Parliament represents a significant step towards greater awareness and responsibility in the catering sector. However, it is necessary to continue to promote and support concrete actions at local and national level to effectively combat food waste. CNA Imperia invites all participants in “Calicis” to take an active part in the fight against food waste, adopting small daily gestures that can make a big difference. Each of us has the power to contribute to a more sustainable future, and together we can make meaningful changes for the good of the planet and future generations.
