THE BATHING SEASON IN FIUMICINO AND FREGENE KICKS OFF

Officially starting tomorrow bathing season on the coast of Municipality of Fiumicino, which includes the localities of Isola Sacra, Fregene, Focene, Maccarese and Passoscuro. It will end on September 22nd. On the 24 kilometres, of which 12 kilometers of free beaches and which has over 110 establishments and equipped kiosks, the ordinance of the mayor Mario Baccini, among other things, provides for stricter rules regarding the organization of events and dancing parties on the shore at the sea. The aim is a safe nightlife.
“As the summer season approaches, the streets of Fiumicino come alive with life with residents and tourists enjoying the beauty of our coast and the attractions and events that Fiumicino has to offer. However, as the influx of people increases, it is our duty to ensure that the city remains a safe and welcoming place for all. Therefore, we have planned a series of checks, in collaboration with the police, strengthening the presence of local police officers throughout the municipal territory, to ensure compliance with current regulations and promote a “safe nightlife” in the name of legality and good common life”, he declares Baccini.

The entertainment and dance events, possible for the concessionaires who have signed the “Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the agreements between the Ministry of the Interior and the representatives of the discotheque management organisations”, promoted by the Rome police headquarters, must be authorized by the Municipality “with a notice of at least twenty days from the date of the event”. Dancing and musical entertainment, within the bathing establishments, “must respect crowding indices in compliance with the maximum limit established by the reference legislation and the accessibility of emergency vehicles”. In the case, for example, of Passoscuro and Focene up to a maximum permitted of 300 people, per Maccarese and Fregene 400. The beach facilities will be open to the public, with guaranteed assistance and rescue service, from 9am to 7pm. The ban on any noise activity at a level that constitutes a disturbance has been extended to 4 hours, from 1pm to 5pm. Free access to dogs is guaranteed during the bathing season on the dedicated stretch of free beach in Passoscuro, for an extension of approximately 200 metres.
