Ferrari SF-24 EVO, here it is on track at Fiorano before its debut at Imola

Ferrari took to the track this morning at Fiorano with the SF-24 EVO, the general tests of the package that will debut in Imola.

In recent weeks, the wait for this package is has grown a lot and with it also the expectations for possible results. After a few weeks of rumors and confirmations, Ferrari took to the track at Fiorano with the SF-24 EVO, for the final checks before the Imola GP.

The latest news on the SF-24 EVO spoke of a major aerodynamic change in the belly area, especially in the inlet area. So it was with the version B of the SF-24 which comes with a inverted tray solution. There are similarities with Red Bull, but Ferrari gave its clear imprint to the solution adopted. Slightly wider in height and width to better supply the radiators of the Ferrari power unit without compromising reliability.

This solution allowed Ferrari to create a much more powerful undercut, with greater airflow running under the bellies of the SF-24 EVO. From the photos no changes are noted to the vertical intake below the horizontal inlets. However, the novelties in this area are not exhausted, in fact, in the aerodynamic profiles around the Halo a small microaerodynamic deflector appeared to correct the flows. From these photos we can’t really understand if the bellies have undergone changes, but Ferrari it may have narrowed the lower section of the bellies towards the center of the car. A solution that benefits aerodynamic efficiency and the air flow that flows underneath them.

Various changes also occur in the upper area of the car with modifications to the bonnet and specifically to the hot air vent slots. For the moment we find only one, with a wider opening and a shape that “ideally replicates” the shape of a NACA socket.
