Work suspended after less than a month, on April 23rd
On March 25th, work began for the construction of 14 intelligent shelters in the municipality of Teramo, each equipped with a free wi-fi internet connection and an LCD screen, through which information on opening hours, waiting times and route information and other useful information. Furthermore, in a subsequent phase, the computerization of the shelters will be completed through the installation of interactive information totems which, connected to a virtual platform and the related web applications, will be dedicated to the provision of information on news, mobility, culture, events and tourism that can be consulted via both the screen and the app.
In detail, work has begun on two Colleatterrato stops. It’s a shame that less than a month later, on 23 April, these were suspended because the municipality of Teramo doesn’t know how to connect the shelters to the electricity and what route the cables should take. In the report signed by the RUP of the municipality Francesca Pavoni, it is in fact spoken of “changes occurred in the agreements with the managers of the electricity subservices, which do not currently allow the correct identification of the excavation routes necessary to bring the users to the shelters”. The works are therefore suspended indefinitely and in any case for as long as the impediment conditions exist. What is certain is that, whether it is Ruzzo Reti pipes as in the Piazza Garibaldi construction site or cables and excavations for the electricity grid, the Teramo construction sites do not get along well with the underground services which always present surprises during construction and never in the preliminary phase. We won’t ask about timing because the slogan used recently is “as soon as possible”.
