Cocoricò Riccione launches the first museum hosted in a club

A museum in a disco: for the first time in Italy a club, the historic Cocoricò in Riccione, will host an internal museum, the Mudi, which will be inaugurated with a free entry evening event (subject to registration on cocorico.it) on Sunday 19th May, from 6pm to midnight. The iconic pyramid will become the home for 29 works of contemporary art, enhancing the proposal of a place that has always promoted the artistic avant-garde. The works are by Abraxass, Collettivo Cesura (Luca Santese, Marco Paolo Valli), David Pompili, Fabio Weik, Filippo Sorcinelli, Isabella Nardon, Jacopo Noera, Ka$ap Rocky, Laura Tura, Nic Paranoia, Riffblast, Rocco Trussoni, Sara Leghissa , Sara Scanderebech and Unfollow.
Some will be available for purchase and the proceeds will be reinvested to commission new ones, ensuring a continuous renewal of the artistic offering. The open museum – explain the promoters – wants to undermine the more traditional meaning linked to this concept and present itself as a new form of cultural entertainment, in dialogue with the fun that a disco can offer, «under the values of union and sharing of which Cocoricò has been a spokesperson since its birth.”
Among the protagonists of the presentation evening Filippo Sorcinelli, artist, musician, perfumer and stylist, with a sensorial performance accompanied by the Salò collective, directly from the Capitoline underground. La Furia Film and Sunset Produzioni bring home ‘Cocoricò Tapes’, a documentary by Francesco Tavella which tells the story of the venue. Sara Leghissa will make the corridor towards the Pyramid an explosion of creativity with her ‘live poster art’, while the Color Collective will transform a secret room into a glimpse of the life of the place. The finale ‘Bring it to the Runway’ will be held in the Pyramid «with a performance that expresses the energy and talent of the Italian ballroom scene».
