The diocesan Curia announces the arrival of 8xMille funding to the Catholic Church for the
restoration of the Oratory of the San Leonardo Abate Parish of Mascali, an important heritage not only of the community but also of the city.

Thanks to the generous collaboration of the taxpayers who allocated the 8xMille, the Oratory of San Giovanni Bosco benefits from a sum equal to approximately 150 thousand euros (70 percent
from 8×1000 and 30 percent from the parish fund) as it requires interventions
Extraordinary maintenance. The project involves the renovation of the external façades of the building, with regulation of the rainwater disposal system, the roofs, the fixtures and the waterproofing.

The delivery of the works to the company took place in the premises of the curia on Thursday 9 May in the presence of the vicar general Msgr. Agostino Russo, the director of Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage Don Angelo Milone and the parish priest Don Rosario Di Bella.

“Our Oratory – declares the parish priest Don Rosario – is an icon of faith and local history. This funding will allow us to preserve and further enhance this place, guaranteeing many young people and future generations the possibility of having a meeting place for prayer, spirituality, leisure and culture”.

In thanking Bishop Raspanti for having followed the bureaucratic process, Don Angelo Milone expressed himself as follows: “The 8xMille financing once again testifies to the solidarity and commitment to preserving our cultural and religious heritage. We thank everyone who helped make this important project possible.”
The building intervention, authorized by the Municipality of Mascali, will be completed by the year 2025.
