“Neanderthal Cup”, the countdown for the 20th edition begins – BisceglieLive.it

The countdown has officially started towards the 20th edition of the “Neanderthal Cup”, the now classic Olympic cross country event scheduled for Sunday 12 May in the adrenaline-filled setting of the area in front of the Santa Croce Caves. Entrusted to the tireless organizational staff of the Polisportiva Cavallaro directed by Sabino Piccolo, the competition will be valid as the 8th round of the “Challenge XCO Puglia” circuit and is also valid for the assignment of Top Class points. There are 170 members, coming from all the regions of Central and Southern Italy and distributed in different groups: Beginners, Students, Juniors, Elite and male and female Amateur categories. The first departure is scheduled for 9.30 am.

The route on which the XX edition of the “Neanderthal Cup” will take place will measure almost 5 kilometers and, as usual, has a high technical difficulty coefficient: the athletes will in fact have to face the two traditional steep and challenging descents placed against the spectacular backdrop of the blade of Santa Croce, as well as the various singletrack sections that wind along the terraces both uphill and downhill. There will be no shortage of artificial obstacles, a jump at the entrance to the blade itself and some logs to overcome, positioned downhill. As per tradition, the arrival and the entire logistics area will be located inside the Cassanelli farm.
