Between a poorly planned construction site and a closed road, is Sanremo really capable of living up to tourists’ expectations?

“I think we all agree that the city absolutely needs to change pace and relaunch its economy based mainly on tourism and trade”.

The candidate of Fratelli d’Italia, Davide Verrando, intervenes with his reflection. “However, it is important that tourists, when they arrive in Sanremo – he continues – find a road system suited to everyone and with roads worthy of the name. Unfortunately I note that, even in the field of road interventions, the problem in Sanremo is the lack of correct planning: these days in Sanremo we find construction sites at a standstill or with the reduced presence of workers which cause paralysis in the city centre; then it comes naturally to me to ask myself whether, with the particularly chaotic traffic given the holiday days in France which saw clear traffic blocks in the city centre, especially due to some works in progress, it would not have been better to postpone the interventions for a few days which I therefore consider badly programmed”.

“Let’s also not forget the still many bad and dangerous roads: the electoral promise of asphalt has turned out to be a double mockery because to date there is still no trace of the interventions planned after the allocation of the 800 thousand euros in April. Among the many streets that require urgent interventions, I want to mention a few because they are known to everyone but certainly not because they are more important than the others: Corso degli Inglesi has become a very dangerous obstacle course without forgetting Via Padre Semeria which, speaking of tourism, it represents the gateway for all tourists, especially French ones, who come to Sanremo, representing a terrible business card.”

“It is essential – concludes Verrando – that the next municipal administration provides careful planning to coordinate road interventions in order to avoid situations of this kind. Rolando proposes a road plan designed and planned to solve the problems but allowing the city to continue to live on tourism and I am absolutely convinced that, with Rolando as Mayor, this objective can be achieved”.
