Art, civil commitment and the culture of legality meet again at the Palace of Justice in Marsala, where the mural “You can’t call it love” was inaugurated yesterday afternoon. A work that comes from a workshop created by the V Circolo Didattico “Strasatti Nuovo” and which presents itself as a tribute to the female world. The project leader of the work is the architect Antonio Mauro from Marsala, who underlines the connection between the idea and the Protected Area for the Hearings of the Anti-Violence Center “La casa di Venere”, where the mural was created.
After the unveiling of the work, those present moved to the atrium in front of the entrance to the Court, where the event continued with speeches by the chief prosecutor, the president of the Court of Marsala, Alessandra Camassa, the president of the Bar Association Giuseppe Spada, of the director of the V Circolo, Vita D’Amico, who underlined the value of culture in building a better tomorrow, also bringing greetings from the regional councilor for education, Mimmo Turano. Then the mayor Massimo Grillo, who spoke of the mural as “tangible testimony of concrete commitment in favor of a culture capable of overcoming any form of violence”. The president of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Court of Marsala, Adele Pipitone, introduced a group of women from the “Le Barbottine” ceramic workshop, active at the Social Center of Sappusi, who in turn presented one of their clay works to those present , which depicts the head of a woman.
The event continued with a touching monologue, written by Massimo Graffeo and performed by the actress Cinzia Bochicchio, and then concluded with the performance of the Fabio Carpi quartet, which performed some jazz classics.
