villa hunt for cinepanettone

ANCONA – All that is missing is the definitive “yes” from the production but, barring sensational second thoughts, the next Christmas film by the newly awarded company Alessandro Siani and Leonardo Pieraccioni will be set in Ancona. Indeed, almost all of the filming (around 80%) will take place in the Doric capital, ready to transform into an exceptional film set for the comedy “You and I must talk”. This is the title of the film directed by Siani, who will duet with Pieraccioni for the first time on screen. The film, produced by Fulvio and Federica Lucisano for Italian International Film with Rai Cinema, will be released in theaters in mid-December, just before the Christmas holidays. A golden opportunity for Ancona.

The finishing touches

All that’s missing is the official status, it was said, of the production. In recent days there have been various inspections to find the best locations. The Marche Film Commission operators accompanied Siani & co. on an excursion in the port area, from Marinadorica to the ancient port, passing through the Mole Vanvitelliana and then going up to the center touching the Pinacoteca and Palazzo Jona. A visit to the Passetto could not be missed. Then, for probable script needs, a trip to the Torrette regional hospital.

The gem

What’s missing is a villa where you can shoot the interiors. Just in the last few hours, a manager from the Marche Film Commission – which is providing a fundamental support service to the film’s production – undertook a tour of historic Ancona to try to satisfy the director’s requests. The final approval from Lucisano Media Group to transform Ancona into a set is expected by next week at the latest. Filming should start in mid-June and last between 8 and 10 weeks. With the film, Ancona would return to being a protagonist of cinema. It was the case with La Stanza del Figlio by Nanni Moretti, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2001. At the beginning of the week, the Passetto hosted some scenes from the drama Alex Bravo – Policeman in his own way, with Marco Bocci. Piaraccioni and Siani’s journey began with a post that appeared on the Tuscan actor and director’s social profile: «When I met Alessandro and he simply asked me: “Do we want to have fun together?” I immediately felt a joyful spark that would ignite a beautiful project. Then when we started commenting enthusiastically on the story he told me, I realized that we were already having fun and that the journey had already begun.”
