Latina – Police checks at “Nicolosi” and bus lines: an arrest and a complaint

Yesterday afternoon, the Latina State Police once again coordinated an inter-force service aimed at guaranteeing a lasting effect of deterrence and repression of criminal conduct in this capital.

The patrols of the State Police – Flying Squad together with the Lazio Crime Prevention Department – in agreement with the other police forces, carried out specific control activities of the territory in the “Nicolosi” district and in the bus lines area, paying particular attention to the areas of greater degradation in which crimes are more likely to be committed.

On this occasion, numerous checkpoints were carried out which made it possible to identify 147 subjects, of which 15 had police prejudice, and to check 100 vehicles.

Checks were also carried out on people placed under house arrest or subjected to alternative measures to detention.

During the control activities carried out by the Flying Squad policemen, a vehicle with two Romanian citizens on board was stopped; thanks to more in-depth checks, it emerged that a European arrest warrant for extradition or surrender, issued by the Romanian authorities for crimes concerning public order, for affray and kidnapping, was pending against one of the two passengers, with a definitive sentence to be served by the man of 3 years.

Therefore, in execution of the provision, the subject was arrested and taken to the Latina district prison awaiting the decisions of the Court of Appeal of Rome competent in the matter.

The car in which the two were traveling was instead the subject of a complaint for embezzlement, reported to the Milan Police Offices last April, therefore the police proceeded with the complaint to the AG in the state of freedom of the driver of the the car, for the crime of receiving stolen goods.

There was no lack of checks and verifications aimed at combating the phenomenon of irregular immigration, verifying the legality of foreign citizens to remain on the National Territory; in this regard, 7 foreign citizens were checked, all found to be legal.

This operation, conducted in full synergy by the various police forces, within the framework of the coordinated activities carried out under the aegis of the Prefecture of Latina, aims to carry out a more targeted and in-depth control of the territory, combing entire neighborhoods of the capital and other cities included in the High Impact activities.
