President Nicola Canonico had a meeting with Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo to provide clarifications on the current situation of the Rossoneri club.
After having illustrated the general picture to the first citizen, Dr. Episcopo urged the President to remain at the helm of Calcio Foggia 1920 in order to guarantee the team’s registration in the next Lega Pro championship, and avoid the dispersion of energy and of the sacrifices made to date. However, the latter remained firm in his decisions and confirmed his desire to leave the club due to facts known in the news such as intimidation and insults, and reiterated that in the event that the shares are not taken over, he will not proceed with the registration of the club to the 2024/2025 football season of the Lega Pro, subject to immediate financial interventions by the minority shareholder Map Consulting srl which is headed by Dr. Maria Assunta Pintus.
As regards the general framework of the Via Gioberti company, the club wanted to clarify that the company shares will be made available to any person interested in the acquisition, free of charge. Furthermore, President Canonical has also made it known that he is willing to renounce all financing and capital contributions made to the club by members, over €4,000,000.00, to which must be added €850,000.00 of sponsorships attributable to his society.
The debt of Calcio Foggia 1920 corresponds to €6,289,043.00 as of 03/31/2024 but which, net of shareholder loans, credits and bank availability, is only €2,371,827.00, compared to €2,577. 518.00 inherited from the previous management as well as from approved budget data. It was also underlined that, in the last three years, Map Consulting (a company of Dr. Pintus) has paid the club exclusively the sum of €38,136.00, a figure which highlights the difference between the contributions provided to Calcio Foggia 1920 to guarantee survival.
Finally, it is hereby announced that, yesterday, the Court of Foggia declared (official document attached) that Calcio Foggia 1920 has no judicial liquidation, bankruptcy, extraordinary administration or compulsory administrative liquidation procedures underway, nor have any applications been submitted for admission to the composition with creditors or for the approval of the restructuring agreements.
