ROME – BMW Italia strengthens its bond with the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation. On the occasion of the 81st edition of the Internazionali d’Italia tennis in Rome, the Monaco company presented a national preview of the new BMW 5 Series Touring which will be in all Italian dealerships starting from May 25th.
The bond between BMW and tennis arises from the sharing of fundamental and universal values such as integration, style, respect for the opponent, performance, elegance, the continuous search for perfection. According to the company, sport, and tennis in particular, is a universal language that unites peoples, cultures and genders as well as attracting many fans all over the world.
“Tennis represents a privileged channel through which to communicate our values in terms of circularity, innovation and sustainability – underlined Massimiliano Di Silvestre, president and CEO of BMW Italia – In recent years, more and more tennis companies are working, similarly to what we do in the automotive sector, to rethink the way of managing the business in the production, recycling or use of resources phase. I’m thinking of the new balls made with recycled materials, the bags made with recycled plastic, the new t-shirts made from sustainable materials, up to the creation of tennis courts with recycled rubber. All these examples are linked to our circular philosophy where concepts such as Re-Use, Re-Think and Re-Cycle offer concrete examples of where the business of the future should go. We will concretely demonstrate this starting next year with the Neue Klasse, a new generation of mainly electric models that we will launch on the market from 2025.”
Precisely starting from a common gaze on values and ambitions, in 2020 BMW Italia signed a partnership agreement with the then Italian Tennis Federation which goes beyond the major events of which Fitp is the rights holder or organizer, but also to the basic activities.
BMW Italia has become the official car of Fitp and therefore of the activity of its managers and teachers, with the aim of spreading tennis more and more in the area. On the occasion of the Master 1000 tournament in Rome, BMW Italia guarantees the mobility of players and staff with a fleet of over 100 cars and for the entire duration of the event the public will be able to admire the new electric 5 Series Touring, available for the first time at within the range together with the petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models.
