“Ensure maximum economic and social sustainability, within the framework of decarbonisation and energy transition”
Representatives of MIMIT, the Lazio Region, the Port System Authority of the central-northern Tyrrhenian Sea and ENEL met in a reduced form of a task force, as agreed at the meeting of the Committee for the management of the phase out of the Enel power plant on 11 March coal-fired Torrevaldaliga North.
Over the next few weeks, the task force will promote a series of meetings and discussions with third parties to evaluate initiatives and solutions, outlining a concrete path for the reconversion to be brought to the attention of the aforementioned Committee.
For each potential initiative for the future of the area, the concreteness of the projects and the impact on the area will be verified development of the area, on employment and the related actions to be implemented.
The next meeting of the Committee will therefore follow these first meetings and will be an opportunity to inform the members about the feasibility of these projects and on the timetable of interventions to be implemented in the short term given the imminent decommissioning of the activities of the Torrevaldaliga power plant.
The objective is therefore to guarantee maximum economic and social sustainability of the industrial and logistics reconversion project, within the framework of decarbonization and energy transition.
