The prizes for the seventh edition of the “Uno,Nessuno e Centomila” competition were awarded today. The ceremony, presented by Stefania Renda and Davide Sardo, took place at the Luigi Pirandello Theater and saw the participation of hundreds of students from all over the world. The winning lower secondary schools are IC Giovanni XXIII of Sava, province of Taranto with Skill cards and Le due verité, ranked in first place; in second place the Italian Omnicomprehensive Institute of Athens, with “Ciaula discovers Persephone at Eleusis”, in third place the l.C. Galluppi Collodi Bevacqua from Reggio Calabria with the video “The turn”.

The first place in the secondary schools for the dramaturgy section was the Giacomo and Pio Manzù artistic high school in Bergamo with “The hand of the poor patient”, in second place was the Foscolo high school in Rome with “Seven students in search of a professor ”, third place went to the Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye-Italian Section with “Crazy request for certificate”. First in the video section was the Artistic High School of the Precious Blood of Monza with “World of Paper”. Second place to “La fede non fede” of the “Tommaso Fiore” Institute of Modugno. Third “In doubt” by the Colegiul National George Baritiu of Cluj-Napoca. Other schools such as the IMI in Istanbul, the Dante Alighieri Theoretical High School in Bucharest, the Montebello International High School, were also awarded for theatrical writing, direction, clarity of message, photography, editing, content or current affairs. of Lille, the Veronese high school of Chioggia, the Colletta high school of Avellino, the IC Barnaba Bosco of Ostuni, the Cafta school of Torrington, the San Francesco di Assisi school of Caracas, the Bonaventura Secusio institute of Caltagirone, the IC Frattini of Leggiuno. Seven Agrigento schools were awarded on the stage of the Pirandello Theatre: the Empedocle high school, the Leonardo high school, the Politi high school, the Gallo Institute, the Agrigento Centro Institute, the IISS Fermi of Aragon, the Pirandello Institute of Bivona. Greetings from Agrigento Capital of Culture 2025 were presented by the mayor Francesco Miccichè and the councilor for culture Costantino Ciulla. The awards were presented by, among others, the Embassy Counselor, head of office V of the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Filippo Romano; the police commissioner of Agrigento Tommaso Palumbo; for the prefecture of Agrigento, Eva Di Betta; for the Luigi Pirandello Theater Foundation, the general director Salvo Prestia.

The entire Jury was present, chaired by the Pirandellist Professor Alfredo Sgroi, and composed of Giovanni de Leva, official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cinzia Terlizzi, Rai journalist, Beniamino Biondi, poet, writer, and the teachers Lia Sezzi and Giuseppina Parisi. Valerio Di Miceli spoke for the Regional School Office – Territorial Area of ​​Agrigento, who brought greetings from Antonio Diliberto, general director for organizational planning of the Ministry of Education and Merit, the vice president of the Strada degli Scrittori, Gaetano Pendolino, Marco Longo, representing Coopculture.

During the four days of activities and performances, the theatrical workshops were held by the actor and director Giovanni Volpe, by the director Marco Savatteri, artistic director of the event and one of the founders of the association that organizes the Competition, and by Patrizia Aricò, theatrical trainer of the Dance and Theater Training Center of Chioggia. The students won ceramic prizes signed by Maestro Domenico Boscia with a painting entitled “Behind the mask”, which portrays Luigi Pirandello wearing a theatrical mask and a bow tie with the typical intense and brilliant features of the art of Sicilian ceramists. Furthermore, they won scholarships for the Writing Master organized by the Strada degli Scrittori worth 600 euros – in person – for the podium prizes, and 250 euros – in streaming – for the special prizes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered certificates to the winning Italian schools abroad.

The event is organized by the Association “Uno Nobo e Centomila”, chaired by the journalist Anna Maria Scicolone, and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, by the Ministry of Education and Merit, in collaboration with the Municipality of Agrigento, the Luigi Pirandello Theater Foundation. It is sponsored by the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples, by the “Valley of the Temples” Tourist District, by the Strada degli Scrittori and Coopculture. The organizational direction is entrusted to Sabrina Spampinato, vice president and one of the founders of the cultural association. The artistic moment of the actors of Savatteri Produzioni with Andrea Vizzini was appreciated, with choreography by Giovanni Geraci.

This year’s edition featured the novelty of a twinning between the Liceo Leonardo of Agrigento and the Liceo Internazionale of Saint Germain en Laye, and of a work “The Surprises of Science” presented by the Liceo Manzù of Bergamo, which edited the drafting of the dramaturgy, and by the IC Barnaba Bosco of Ostuni, who oversaw the representation and creation of a video. Both experimental projects can be replicated by participants in the next edition.
