Foligno-Perugia: the route
After the dirt road stage, another important fraction for the general classification. The first 34 km will be for pure specialists, given the totally flat format. TO Valleceppi Bridge the road will surge with a 1.3 km ramp at 10.7%, with a peak at 16%, which leads to Casaglia. Once past this, the road will continue to climb until the finish line, but more gently up to the ramp Perugia. However, a real climb of 6.6 km at an average gradient of 4.1%.

With the climbs in Casaglia and Perugia, it is very difficult for a pure time trialist to conquer the 7th stage of this edition of the Giro. Considering that Pogacar he also saved himself in the dirt road section, the Slovenian is the big favorite of the day. The captain of the UAE Emirates can thus definitively split the general classification, going on to win his 6th time trial in his career (the third in a Grand Tour after the two time trials won in his career at the Tour de France).

How much is the prize money?
For this 2024 edition the organizers have maintained the prize money of past years, with the winner of the Giro d’Italia who will earn around 265 thousand euros, even if we are still very far from the prize money offered by the Tour de France. 11 thousand euros to the winner of each single stage, 20 thousand euros to the super fighter.
