Cagliari, 9 May 2024 – The XXXVI edition of the International Book Fair opened this morning at the Lingotto Fiere in Turin. The Sardinia Region is present with its own 120 m2 stand, in which the books of 15 publishers are displayed. During the morning, the presentations of the books began, in the presence of authors and publishers. In the afternoon, a few dozen young students participated in a printing techniques laboratory “Ischire Lab” curated by Ciro Auriemma, Silvia Crobu and Alessi Schreiber.
“Exactly one month after the oath – underlines the councilor for public education Ilaria Portas – I am particularly happy to be present at this initiative which represents the largest showcase of Italian publishing and beyond. Culture, through events such as the Salone Internazionale of the Turin book – concluded the exponent of the Todde council – becomes an ideal bridge to lead Sardinia into Italy and the world”.
The program of the Sardinia Region stand is enriched with two “OFF” moments, one of which took place this morning, curated by Eleonora Carta; the second is scheduled for tomorrow, with the participation of a class from Eboli. The second day of the Salon, tomorrow, still includes workshops for children, five book presentations, memories of Michela Murgia and Enrico Atzeni and the presentation of the UNESCO candidacy.
