104 years ago the insurrection known as the “Red Days of Viareggio” occurred, to which Hop Frog Editions dedicated a comic book created by Roberto Gambini.

“The 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May 1920 represent three very important, fundamental days in the twentieth-century history of the city of Viareggio but, at the same time, also an episode that should have risen to a very different consideration in the context of national historiography – explain the promoters – . The spark of the insurrection and self-management of the city was the cold and without any reason killing of the linesman of the Viareggio side Augusto Morganti by a carabiniere, which occurred well after the cessation of the scuffles that had broken out at the end of the Viareggio match -Lucchese”.

“Today we have managed to publish this story also through a comic – the publishers still state –, masterfully created by the designer Roberto Gambini – who in the past has collaborated among others with Bonvi, Fremura, L’Eternauta – which talks about that story in which women were the protagonists and for the first time assumed a leading role in the political and social affairs of the city. A way to also involve a young audience who is passionate about comics and history.”

The appointment for the presentation of “Forgotten History” by Roberto Gambino is for Saturday 11 May at 5.30 pm in the Lega fra i Maestri d’Ascia e Calafati room in via Coppino 245 in Viareggio. Free admission.
