The prefect: “Maximum attention in the event that the event can be used to carry out demonstrations”

REGGIO EMILIA – 103,000 spectators, of which around 6,000 come from abroad, are expected on May 25th at the Campovolo arena for the AC/DC concert. And this morning there was a meeting lasting over three hours in the Prefecture to develop security measures in view of the mega event.

The prefect of Reggio Maria Rita Cocciufa underlines how the city “is becoming attractive for artists of international standing, and concerts like the one on May 25th therefore entail a significant and profitable economic and socio-cultural impact”.

At the same time, however, these events, “attracting a notable influx of people to the city, require a great organizational and management effort on the part of all the public and private components involved, starting from the organizers”.

Furthermore, the prefect expressed his appreciation to the organisers, for having provided several hundred tickets for people with disabilities, for whom specific precautions must be taken. “Maximum attention – continues Cocciufa – must be paid by the police forces and the staff appointed by the organizers on entry checks, also in light of the delicate international scenario and the possibility that the event could be used to carry out demonstration acts”.

Finally, great importance will be given to communication: both that aimed at spectators, mainly managed by the concert organizers, and that aimed at residents, to whom the Municipality will provide information on changes to the road system.
