The results obtained from the IEG event represent the fruit of the synergy that involves local stakeholders, so that the entire city continues to be a protagonist with initiatives to enhance the gold district and its cultural riches.

THEEG – Italian Exhibition Group has strengthened the valorization of the territory with local stakeholders (Chamber of Commerce, Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, Municipality of Arezzo, Province of Arezzo, Confindustria Federorafi) to guarantee a business experience not only within the neighborhood – subject to infrastructural interventions to improve services and the visiting experience -, but also to enjoy the beauty of the city. In this path there is the strong involvement of Arezzo, protagonist of initiatives capable of enhancing the great tradition of its gold district and its artistic and cultural riches, an integral part of the visiting experience for international buyers arriving from the main markets of the world and for buyers from all over the peninsula.

Oroarezzo has the Chamber of Commerce among its major supporters. “The gold sector is central to the Arezzo economy and therefore we have a strong relationship with the territory – says the president Massimo GuasconiThe data in our possession, source ISTAT, certify exports of jewelery and costume jewelery around the world for 3 billion and 491 million euros in 2023, with a positive sign, an increase of 9.4% compared to 2022. If Italy , in terms of exports to the world, alone represents 40% of European activity, by extension we can undoubtedly affirm that the goldsmith center of Arezzo, the first in Italy as a production district, is the European center. The Chamber of Commerce has an internal laboratory, one of the three main chamber laboratories together with those of Vicenza and Alessandria-Asti, for tests on the gold content and for all the marking of products for our companies, as required by the recent Vienna Convention. The protocol is particularly useful for companies, because it allows a product that already has a branding, therefore a guarantee, to be distributed in the other 21 countries. We support all promotional fairs, starting from Oroarezzo, we finance the participation of our companies abroad and we are the second partner of the Fair Authority which then makes the pavilions available. We have made an important contribution to the creation of the Gold Museum of Arezzo. Our business has its roots in time and is linked to a sector that is not only valuable but also traditional. We lend a hand to find resources and training courses. In Arezzo there is a state school, the Margaritone, which is a constant reservoir from which companies draw to satisfy the needs dictated by continuous generational turnover. We support the must of jewelery together with the university: through the activation and granting of scholarships, we contribute to the creation of specifically trained professional figures who deal with business activities, business management, marketing and advertising” .

In most cases, they are from Arezzo, but the presence of exhibitors from other Italian regions and international exhibitors is also very strong”. Oroarezzo is not only a showcase for jewelery but also a vehicle for understanding the beauties of the area. “We pamper the buyers who come here – says Giordini – we offer a business experience but also a pleasant city and good living, food, wine, monuments, frescoes and music. We have organized tours to visit the frescoes by Piero della Francesca, then there is the gold museum inside the Palazzo della Fraternita. Our strategy is one of strong synergy between stakeholders, so that Arezzo repositions itself as the second gold fair after Vicenza. It is in pole position, however, as a production district with its 1200 companies, around 10 thousand employees working in this sector, the heart of our city’s economic activity. Arezzo is worth a third of Tuscan exports, but is also worth a third of international exports. It can undoubtedly be defined as the city of gold, because in addition to the 70% of its branded or unbranded companies there is another 30% made up of contracting companies for the big luxury brands: Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Prada, Tiffany. Through the collaboration with Beppe Angiolini, art director of Oroarezzo, we ensure that the exhibition center becomes an increasingly container of luxury”.
