The conference ”Nanomedicine, Molecular Diagnostics and surgical innovations in the fight against tumors” in Lecce

A new event took place this afternoon organized by the National Association of Cavalry Weapons of Lecce. At the ”Sigismondo Castromediano” Museum, ”Nanomedicine, Molecular Diagnostics and surgical innovations in the fight against tumors” was discussed, as underlined by Pasquale Paladini, President of the Lecce section of the Cavalry Army, in the interview.

The interesting and current conference, which was attended by local civil and military authorities, was moderated by the journalist Marco Renna and enjoyed the patronage of: Puglia Region, Province of Lecce, Municipality of Lecce, University of Salento and National Council of Research.

The appointment is part of the calendar of social and scientific dissemination events that the Lecce Section of the ANAC has planned during the year. The conference was also an opportunity to raise awareness and intensify the culture of prevention in the fight against oncological diseases. Building a future without cancer is in fact one of the greatest challenges of our time, which deserves to be faced with a common, strong and constant commitment over time.

During the meeting there were interventions by the speakers who dealt with the following topics: Prof. Dr. Stefano Leporatti, CNR Research Director, at the CNR Nanotec – Institute of Nanotechnology in Lecce will discuss Nanotechnology applied to anti-tumor therapy : nanomedicine and nanocarriers; Prof. Dr. Mariafrancesca Cascione, Researcher and Professor at the ”Ennio De Giorgi” Department of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Salento presented the study of cellular morpho-mechanical alterations as a new diagnostic tool in nanomedicine; Prof. Dr. Alessandro D’Amuri, Director of the UOC Pathological Anatomy PO ”Vito Fazzi” spoke on the role of the pathologist in precision oncology; Prof. Dr. Antonio Cisternino, Director of the UOC, Urology, ”Santa Maria” Hospital in Bari gave a speech on Precision Surgery: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics; finally, Prof. Dr. Andrea Tinelli, Director of the UOC Gynecology and Obstetrics of the ”Veris delli Ponti” Hospital in Scorrano closed the conference with the intervention on tumors of the uterine smooth muscles: surgery based on biological and applied research to endoscopic nanosurgery.
