The Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Messina, in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing investigations to identify the body found on the Rodia shoreline, reported by a citizen in the early hours of the morning of April 18th.
Despite the advanced state of decomposition of the body, the first medical-legal tests have not yet allowed it to be identified. However, noticeable tattoos were identified on his left thigh and left hip, which could be crucial to the ongoing investigation.
The technical-scientific support of the Carabinieri of the RIS of Messina was used to deepen the investigations and obtain useful information to establish the identity of the victim and the circumstances of his death. The importance of this discovery could be linked to three other bodies found in the sea between 17 March and 14 April, near the promontory of Capo Tindari and off the coast of the Aeolian Islands.
The main objective of the authorities is to clarify the details of this tragic event and to carry out the investigation as precisely and promptly as possible.
