The recent news episodes, in particular the shots fired at cars and in the air, worry the opposition municipal councilor Fabrizio Fiorentini who once again forcefully raises the issue of security at all institutional levels. «This topic continues to be a priority for the city. Even in the last few days – says Fiorentini – there have been very serious events such as gunshots in broad daylight. For a long time we have been urging those who govern, at all levels, to intervene.”
The minority municipal councilor also underlines how in recent months he has asked for news on the State Police Commissariat which will soon be opened in Aprilia and launched proposals to improve the liveability of the urban centre, even at night. «We questioned the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, requested interventions to improve the lighting – he continues – and strengthen the Local Police, requested the appointment of a Security delegate and, lastly, I requested the municipal administration (also with a question to the mayor) to convene the Legality Observatory”.
And precisely on this last point the exponent of the Uniti per Aprilia civic list urges the council led by Mayor Principi, given that months later the city observatory (reactivated and modified in the regulation) has not yet been convened for the first session. «On this point in particular, the municipal administration is amiss. It is late – Fabrizio Fiorentini continues in his speech – on the time of convocation that the regulation imposes and no response has yet been received. Tension cannot be eased on this issue. We must make the tools we equip ourselves work seriously, otherwise we will not be able to expect people to give credibility to politics.”
