Syracuse Orange track and field prepares for ACC Championships

The Syracuse Orange track and field teams are in Atlanta competing in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Syracuse enters the meet without hopes for winning a team title but several Orange athletes have a chance at individual crowns. All-American hurdler Jaheem Hayles enters the meet with the top seed in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.88. Emmanuel Joseph (6th) and Naseem Smith (10th) will look to give more scorers.

Elijah Mallard (4th seed) and Xayvion Perkins (9th seed) will compete in the 400m hurdles while Trei Thorogood looks to make the podium in the 100m (7th seed) and 200m (10th seed).

In the distance events, the Syracuse men will be deep in the 10000m with Perry Mackinnon (3rd), Paul O’Donnell (7th) and Sam Lawler (9th). Talented freshman Benne Anderson is the 8th seed in the 1500m.

For the Syracuse women, Shaleah Colaire is the 6th seed in the 100m hurdles and 5th seed in the 400m hurdles. Kitana Burgard is the 8th seed in the 100m dash while Savannah Roark (5th in the 10000m) and Madison Neuner (6th in the 3000m steeplechase) lead the distance group.
