PESCARA. The fight against cybercrime knows no respite, just as there is a need to always be updated on new defense tools to avoid becoming victims of attacks that risk causing economic, reputational and personal damage.
For this reason Pescara will return to host the elite of national and international cyber security which, on 14 and 15 May, will be the protagonist of the eighth edition of “Expo Security & Cyber Security Forum”. The PalaBecci of the Marina di Pescara tourist port, in fact, will once again be transformed into the citadel of cyber security thanks to the presence of the top experts in the sector who operate in both the public and private sectors, without neglecting the academic world. Two days of intense activity reserved for professionals, institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, the industrial and academic world, which this year too will be promoted by the association Vae Victis with the support of Confimi Industria Abruzzo, Regional Council of Abruzzo and Municipality of Pescarawith its digital transition department, and in collaboration with the main cyber security players at national and international level, including Leonardo Cyber Security of Finmeccanica, which for the first year will be the protagonist of the event. The event, under the scientific direction of Francesco Perna, Principal Cyber Security BCG Platinion, presents a structured and smart platform divided into: a Speech area where dozens of speakers will alternate and will be called to provide their contribution on different thematic drivers; a Tech Talk area where companies and professionals will be able to present all the latest products and services; a Hackdriatic area, organized in collaboration with Metro Olografix, which organized a capture de flag for the one hundred participants from computer science courses in Central and Southern Italy. This is an area designed to find very young talents who will have to manage moments of crisis, develop defense strategies and overcome challenges, having the opportunity to come into contact with the main entities linked to the world of cyber security, constantly on the hunt for specialized profiles but also young minds to be trained; a Business Contact area organized with the aim of creating a privileged platform for meetings and relationships with cyber security experts and professionals.
Constantly staying in step with the times and born with the aim of increasing above all the culture of cybersecurity, for the 2024 edition Expo Security & Cyber Security Forum will have the following thematic drivers: Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence; Cyber Security Crisis Management; Cyber Security Skill Gap & Educational; Cyber security regulation and impact on companies. The meetings will be held in collaboration with the Order of Engineers and the Order of Journalists of Abruzzo and will award training credits for the categories.

Among the novelties of the 2024 edition, Tuesday 14 May at 6.30 pm there will be the Aperitech, a moment of discussion open to all participants of the event but more informal, organized by Metro Olografix, in which the theme of Threat Intelligence with Stefano “antelox” Antenucci and Riccardo “reecdeep” Di Pietro. Following this, from 7.30 pm, the Cyber Harbor Party will take place, with a DJ set by Augusta Dj, to enjoy an aperitif at sunset and have the opportunity to deepen our knowledge with the protagonists ofExpo Security & Cyber Security Forum

«The topic of Cyber-Security», adds the president of the Regional Council of the Abruzzo Region, Lorenzo Sospiri, «It has strategic relevance for all government apparatus, at any level: the possibility of protecting our government apparatus from cyber attacks must meet the same criteria as Civil Protection, allowing the activation of procedures that derogate from the rules. The problem is part of the agenda of the regional and national governments, with important innovations that will make our systems safer, which means protecting citizens and their sensitive data.”
