VIAREGGIO. The so-called urban Daspo, issued by the police commissioner, rises to fourteen Edgardo Giobbi against young people and very young people responsible for violent behavior during the nightlife. The measures, taken on the basis of investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, will prohibit young people from accessing and staying near the premises where they committed the attacks.
The measures
The first six daspo concern as many young people, four of whom are not yet adults and resident in Viareggio, with an age ranging between 20 and 15 years, who were the protagonists, on 5 April last, of an attack for trivial reasons against two peers, to whom they caused injuries and damaged the car near a place in viale Europa in Darsena. For everyone, the ban from approaching all the premises on Viale Europa lasts for one year. Another eight Daspo were signed against as many young people, all of Moroccan origin, aged between 25 and 17, residing between Versilia and the province of Massa, who were responsible for a brawl near a club on 21 January of Marina di Pietrasanta; the ban on access and parking was imposed for all public places in Viale Roma a Marina for a period of 18 months for two of them, for a year for all the others.
The commissioner
These measures are in addition to 2 other Daspos imposed last February on a couple from Lucca, who during the Christmas holidays, under the influence of alcohol, created problems near a nightclub in Forte dei Marmi; first arguing with other customers and then directing his anger towards the police patrol who intervened at the request of the venue’s security. The woman, arrested, was banned from entering and staying for two years from the Versilia premises; for the man, reported in a state of freedom, for one year. «The commissioner – we read in a statement released by the police – thanks the provincial commander Colonel Arturo Sessa for the work carried out, in the belief that the synergy between police forces allows us to achieve an ever greater liveability of our territory guaranteeing the right quiet life among citizens. He also ensures the constant application of all those measures permitted by our legislation aimed at sanctioning all those subjects who in a broad sense attack public safety or urban decorum and the use of certain city spaces”. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 28 urban Daspos have been issued.
