The 2024 edition of Amico Museo, the campaign to promote the museum heritage of the Tuscany region which brings together the museums of all the provinces, opens with consolidated events of great interest and widespread throughout the regional territory.
From guided tours to Villa Puccini in Torre del Lago, to the events organized by the Magma Museum of Cast Iron Arts in the Maremma, in Follonica, there are many initiatives in particular for the weekend that celebrates International Museum Day on 18 May and the Night European Museums. A special opportunity to enhance museums and their activities, raise awareness of our cultural heritage, with proposals that involve visitors in creative experiences.
According to the President of the Region, such a rich proposal which is renewed every year on the occasion of this event, testifies to the dynamism of our museums and our cultural realities and the passion that cultural operators place in meeting the public, with an offer always new, aimed at involving even the littlest ones. It is an event that enhances widespread Tuscany in the best way, through the cultural liveliness and variety of proposals that the territories can offer.

The museums have in fact included the appointments in the Calendar of cultural events on the Tuscany Region website, also visible by searching by keyword Amico Museo and by province.
The underlying theme of Amico Museo 2024 is Museums for teaching and research, a theme identified by Icom for International Museum Day on 18 May.
Particular attention in this year’s edition will be given to the involvement of young people, including as speakers and researchers in the various initiatives and to the public between 18 and 30 years old. The theme of accessibility for a more aware, sustainable and inclusive world will also be highlighted.
