Rose Festival in Cerreto d’Asti

Cerreto d’Asti celebrates the 17th edition of the Rose Festivalan “exhibition with an open heart and sky”.

Throughout the day, the works of artists, painters, photographers, artisans and nurserymen will be exhibited along the main street of the village and in the rooms of the town hall. Workshops and entertainment for children are planned in the municipal courtyard. The kindergarten museum and the astronomical observatory will be open for the whole day.

As part of the “A rose at every door” initiative, you will be able to admire a permanent exhibition of ancient roses. Among the novelties of this edition are a free yoga lesson at 10.30am at the giant bench n° 151 “La Rosina” and in the afternoon, at 2pm, in collaboration with the Camminare slowly Association, a circular walk of 6 .5 km with a visit to the Romanesque church of Sant’Andrea di Casaglio and a stop at the big bench “La Rosina”. It will be possible to have lunch in the restaurant set up by the Pro Loco in Piazza Nuova (tel. 3334469690) and at the Agrimacelleria il Canneto (tel. 3342082024).

Created and conceived in memory of the former mayor Mirko Mosso, the festival is a bucolic dialogue between the Cerreto community and nature and renews the tradition of planting ancient climbing roses which have now almost disappeared. Scents and colors will intertwine with the presence of the stalls and the always large audience.

After years of waiting, a train will then be able to accompany the elderly and children along the uphill road. The vehicle was made available free of charge thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality led by Luigi Fusello, the Pro loco and the Cerreto d’Arte association.
