TREVISO – Renovation work on the underpass in Via Sarpi will begin on Monday. In June, at the end of the school year, the intervention will begin redevelop viale Cesare Battisti, complete with cutting of the maritime pines and replacement with native essence plants, equally present but more manageable. The summer of 2024 promises to be very intense on the city construction site front: in addition to the two mentioned, the Ats construction site near Borgo Cavour will also start, for the new sewerage network, and that for the construction of the new Ottavi bridge.

THE UNDERPASS

We begin, as mentioned, with the underpass of Via Sarpi, a crossroads of the city road network for at least twenty years, a pain especially when it rains and everything floods. Ca’ Sugana has decided to try to solve the problem at the root with an intervention which however will last underpass closed to traffic for at least 165 days, approximately 5 months. «The works – they explain from Ca’ Sugana – will consist of the complete demolition of the road pavement and the “bare” laying of the concrete conglomerate structures to waterproof the walls and slabs of the underpass ramps. Upon completion, the road surface and signs will be restored.” The impact on traffic is inevitable: «The overall duration of the contracted intervention is estimated at 165 days and in this period both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited». Sandro Zampese, councilor for Public Works does not hide the reality: «The closure of the underpass will inevitably cause some inconvenience, however every measure and every useful method will be adopted to reduce times, limit noise and warn motorists of the presence of the construction site with appropriate signs vertical”. The construction site area will be limited to the ramps of the underpass, thus guaranteeing accessibility to road users and residents of Via Sarpi who come from the East. For any reports and information it will be possible to contact the Road Infrastructure Service on 0422/658325 or 0422/658618.

IN THE CITY

The construction site in viale Cesare Battisti will open in mid-June. The project, for an investment of approximately 850 thousand euros paid by the Numeria company as an urbanization charge for the construction of the new condominium in place of the former Province, involves the resurfacing of the road surface and pedestrian walkways. Two one-way cycle paths will then be created on both sides of the road: one towards the Duomo and the other towards Porta Calvi. The public lighting, which is currently lacking, will also be redone. And there will also be the safety of the Cantarane moat, which will be cleaned and delimited by a palisade. And then the trees. The renderings show two stripes of green on the sides of the road and, at regular intervals, 54 large plants which on paper are still maritime pines, but which in the future will most likely be of another type. The technicians are completing the final tests to define the resistance of the current plants, but their fate is now sealed: they will be replaced by other tall trees.
