Edoardo Cosenza, Councilor for Infrastructure of the Municipality of Naples, he spoke on Radio Goal, live on Kiss Kiss Napoli: “I am a season ticket holder for Curva B, lower ring, and after the famous Napoli-Frosinone I was there with my son. The lower ring of Curve B has no real engineering structure. Before it was lower, when they did the work for Italia 90 they made a small elevation to improve visibility. Between the upper and lower parts there is a void with some slightly old elements. In Curva B they also supported facilities during some events. The earthquake has nothing to do with it, the problem is in the homes and on the bridges. An inspection is carried out after every match and Napoli-Frosinone was played an hour after the earthquake and this created an ambiguity in the note.
New plant in Bagnoli? It can be built by adapting to seismic regulations which contemplate the possibility of having earthquakes consistent with that area. The stadium in Bagnoli will not be built for other reasons, not for an engineering problem. It took 25 years to approve the master plan in Bagnoli and it does not include a stadium. The stadium must have a series of commercial activities around it which are the basis of the master plan. I don’t know how many years it will take to clean up Bagnoli, but it is wrong to think that it can be done before the European Championships and anyone who thinks so must come to me and convince me. The Maradona is well served by public transport and enjoys many commercial activities around. This possibility is so remote that it is pure fantasy. I hope that De Laurentiis doesn’t come up with imaginative and unrealizable ideas again.”
