Trophies of Milan-Cortina 2026: 150 kids leaving from Treviso, Belluno and Verona | Today Treviso | News


TREVISO – They will leave at dawn from all over the Veneto to arrive full of desire for sport and results 150 students of the 10,000 young GenerAZIONE2026 of the schools of Belluno, Treviso and from this year also of Verona.

Generation2026 is a project that has reached its 3rd edition promoted and supported by the Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti Chamber of Commerce, by the Veneto Region, by the Regional School Institute and from this year, by the Verona Chamber of Commerce. The Project is structured in eco-sustainable, inclusive training activities – divided into 5 Areas: Your “Games”; Your “Values”; Your “Lifestyles”; Your “Sport in a Video”; Your “Competitions”. This architecture offers different experiences ranging from healthy competition, to the promotion of solidarity and mutual respect.

The schools that will participate with their students are: for Treviso: the Ic Vittorio Veneto II Cosmo, Sms Veronese Maser (Ic Cornuda), Ic Riese Pio X, for Belluno: the Ic Tina Merlin, Ic Auronzo di Cadore and for Verona : IC 9 Verona – Valdonega School, IC16 Verona – Caprle School, IC 8 Verona – Betteloni School, IC 8 Verona – Caliari School. The girls and boys will arrive in Milan accompanied by their teachers. The sprint semi-finals (80m) will run and the best 4 times for each class will compete in the Final with the best times of the Milan Schools.

Grand finale therefore for 42,300 students from 73 schools in Lombardy and Veneto who will participate in the 61st edition of the “TROPHIES OF MILAN CORTINA 2026 – Education, Culture and Sport for Young People”, training project (one year long) – and also part of the “Education Gen26” Program of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation – structured on innovative proposals for primary and lower secondary schools. The aim is to raise awareness and bring young people closer to Olympism, and it is the first time that the event takes the name of the two cities hosting the next 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The President of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Franco Ascani, Member of the Culture Commission of the International Olympic Committee, underlined “the fundamental importance of actively involving the new generations in the diffusion of sports culture and Olympic Values”. The Minister for Sport and Youth Dr. Andrea Abodi will speak at the lighting ceremony of the Tripod as part of the “GenerAZIONE2026” project with the twinning of the schools of the Veneto Region.

Prizes and sports material will be up for grabs for schools, participants and teachers.
