The interventions of the Italian Railway Network continue, leading company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group, for the railway doubling between Pistoia and Montecatini Terme, on the Florence – Pistoia – Viareggio line.

To allow the construction sites to operate, train circulation between Pistoia and Montecatini Terme will be suspended from 3.00 pm on Saturday 11th and throughout the day on Sunday 12th May.

Where possible, a rescheduling of the service with bus trips is planned, via the A11 motorway, which do not include the Serravalle Pistoiese stop. An increase in travel times is possible, also in relation to road traffic, the available seats may be fewer than the normal service offered, it is therefore advisable to consider replanning your trip. Bikes are not permitted on buses and animals are not permitted with the exception of guide dogs.

Expected construction of works along the line for the completion of the railway platform and anti-noise barriers in the municipalities of Pistoia, Serravalle Pistoiese and Pieve a Nievole. Work continues on the yards and emergency accesses located at the entrances to the road nnew tunnel of Serravalle Pistoiese, as well as the works for the completion of the new road system replacing the level crossings in the Municipalities of Pistoia and Serravalle Pistoiese with the connected hydraulic works, to safeguard the Stella – Tazzera – Mandrione systems.

In the municipality of Pistoia, the installation of supports and sound-absorbing panels for the anti-noise barriers is planned at the underpass of via Bargi while, in the municipality of Pieve a Nievole, the activities also involve the completion of the cycle-pedestrian underpass of via Bonamici and the new car park in correspondence with via Giusti. Work also continues to complete the new bridges and underpasses already carried out, as well as the construction of the electric traction and signaling systems for the new track.

They will be around 150 workers of RFI and the contracting companies involved every day at the weekend with 50 construction vehicles on various fixed and mobile construction sites.

The summer break is also scheduled from 13 July to 31 August 2024.
