ISTRANA – This night around 3 in Sala di Strada, a Toyota Yaris with two very young minors on board was found to be the subject of theft on Tuesday 7 May at the home of an elderly woman from Morgano, she was intercepted by a Carabinieri patrol in via Baracca. The men of the force then ordered “halt” through the use of sirens. The car, with the two young people on board, fled at full speed for about a couple of kilometers and then ended up off the road and causing extensive damage.
In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the operators have the 16-year-old who was in the driver’s seat was blocked, injured and transported to Treviso hospital for treatment. The other young man, also a minor, managed to quickly walk away into the open countryside, being blocked by a Carabinieri patrol of the Montebelluna Company at the end of timely searches coordinated by the Operations Centers of the territorial Army.
Following the episode, the two boys, without criminal records, were entrusted to their respective parents. For the two very young people there could be criminal consequences – resistance to a public official and receiving stolen goods are the hypotheses of crime, as well as a fine of a few thousand euros for driving without a licence, since it was never obtained, for the young driver – even if the suspicion of the military of the Carabinieri is of their possible involvement in some home burglaries which occurred in recent days in Castellana.
