A meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security was held this morning, chaired by the Prefect of Cosenza, Vittoria Ciaramella, which includes, in addition to the leaders of the police force, the Mayor of the capital municipality and the President of the Province.
The Assembly addressed the issue relating to entertainment venuesespecially in the evening and at night, which is now too often seen as the cause of disturbance of public peace and theater of violenceoften an expression of youthful discomfort.
At the meeting representatives of Confcommercio, the Italian Union of dance clubs and the Italian Union of seaside resorts participated precisely because, at the measures of prevention and contrast, the Minister of the Interior intended to support the responsibility of venue managers through trade associations.
We therefore proceeded to raise awareness particularly these representative bodies so that they can give their concrete contribution to the fight againstabusivenessfrom which conditions of insecurity and forms of unfair competition.
As mentioned, the aforementioned awareness raising will be added targeted control initiatives by the police forces who will count, even on these occasions, on the collaborative contribution of the local public duly authorizedwhich was asked to strengthen the systems video surveillance and to indicate a “safety contact person” for the direct relationships with the same police forces.
The meeting then continued with the examination of some of the 59 municipal video surveillance projects presented in the province, in the presence of the respective Mayors, aimed at accessing the financing provided by the Ministry of the Interior in a specific competition notice.
The collegiate exam its purpose is to to verify the compatibility of the project, including the location of the cameras, with the needs of public order and safety highlighted by the Police Force.
