Confagricoltura brings the requests of the companies of the High Lands to the “Cuneo Montagna Festival”.

Confagricoltura will participate in the “Cuneo Montagna Festival” scheduled in Cuneo next week with an institutional stand set up on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May in via Roma and “dressed up” with images and graphics that recall the strong link between the agriculture of our province and the mountain territory surrounding the capital of Granda and beyond. In particular, at the information space Confagricoltura Cuneo will distribute to the visitors present a memorandum on the main problems that agricultural entrepreneurs in the High Lands find themselves facing on a daily basis. On Saturday 18 May at 4.15 pm, the Monviso cinema will screen “Verrà un’altra estate”, directed by Marco Ottaviano Graziano, a docufilm on transhumance and life in the mountain pastures of Andrea Lando’s company, a historic association with Confagricoltura Cuneo, promoted and financed by the Cuneo ATL, in collaboration with Confagricoltura Cuneo and with the Valle Maira Tourist Consortium, with the patronage of the Unione Montana Valle Maira and the Municipality of Caraglio. Free entry, subject to availability.

“As reiterated in the recent conference on forests that we organized in Frabosa, the mountain territory of Cuneo is very large and rich in resources to be valorised, starting from the forest heritage which, in addition to being a source of income for silvicultural companies, represents in broader sense, a unique scenario where it is possible to seek moments of well-being and carry out outdoor activities – declares Enrico Allasia, president of Confagricoltura Cuneo –. But the mountain is much more: a treasure chest of traditions and knowledge that have been handed down for generations and which, together with the work of many ‘heroic’ companies and farms, have contributed to achieving the prestigious recognition of Cuneo Alpine City 2024. The many initiatives underway program during the Festival have precisely the spirit of promoting at 360 degrees the offer that the mountain system is able to express and of which the primary sector is the absolute protagonist”.

“We welcome events such as the Cuneo Montagna Festival which brings the unique beauties of this part of the Alpine range to the forefront of the general public, however, the promotional and informative showcase must also be an opportunity to reflect on the many difficulties with which agricultural businesses have to deal with accounts, focusing the objective on the real existing problems – underlines Adriano Rosso, manager of the Cuneo area of Confagricoltura –. I am referring, in particular, to the difficult coexistence with wild fauna, wolves first and foremost, to the difficulties linked to digitalisation which struggles to be a reality above a certain altitude, due to precarious or inefficient internet connections, and to poor road conditions. which leaves something to be desired, as it is difficult or lacks adequate maintenance. We therefore ask that the mountain be valorised not only in words, but with concrete facts, starting from the assumption that, despite the most recent technologies, it still represents an environmental condition in which it is more complicated to work, move and, in general, live” .
