gender is a dividing line” conference organized by Azzurro Donna Massa Carrara. Saturday 18th at Villa Cuturi – Antenna 3

The discussion on gender equality in Italian journalism is increasingly relevant in the contemporary media landscape.
Gender differences in Italian journalism reflect many of the challenges present in other professional sectors. Traditionally, women have faced discrimination in pay, career advancement and visibility in decision-making roles. However, in recent years there have been efforts to promote gender equality through initiatives such as creating support networks and implementing company policies aimed at counteracting gender discrimination. Despite this, there is still a lot of work to do to achieve true equality in the Italian journalism sector.
With the aim of examining current challenges and outlining prospects for a more equitable and inclusive future, a debate and discussion on the topic will be held, with the speakers Dr. Antonella Gramigna, “Atlantico-Nicola Porro”, journalist and writer and the Dr. Hoara Borselli“Il Giornale”, journalist and commentator.
The deputies will speak Hon. Catia Polidori, national secretary Azzurro Donna e Hon. Deborah Bergamini, national deputy secretary of Forza Italia, and the candidates for European Elections 2024 Valentina Corsetti Jacopo Ferri.

The conference, organized by Martina Alibani, provincial secretary of Azzurro Donna Massa Carrara, will take placeSaturday 18 May at 5.00 pm at Villa Cuturi in Marina di Massa and will bring together journalism industry experts, media professionals and politicians to discuss and promote gender diversity in the media.
Among the main topics that will be addressed during the conference are:
– The analysis of gender representation in Italian journalistic content.
– The challenges and discrimination that women journalists face in their careers.
– Opportunities and initiatives to promote inclusion and gender equity in newsrooms and media organizations.
– The role of the media in shaping gender narratives and influencing public opinion.
– Possible strategies to encourage greater participation of women in journalism and to encourage the professional growth of female journalists.
With this event, Azzurro Donna intends to represent a world, such as that of media and journalism, where the female figure is lacking, and also an opportunity to join forces and various voices to further promote a more inclusive and respectful of diversity journalistic culture of gender.
