The atmosphere was full of enthusiasm during the open-door training of Luca Gotti’s team in view of the match against the coach’s former team, Fabio Cannavaro’s Udinese. About a hundred fans crowded the stands, showing their support with applause, requests for autographs and smiles. Among the most acclaimed players were Falcone and Almqvist, the latter confirming his excellent form which had already been highlighted in the last match against Cagliari.
Under the watchful eye of sporting director Stefano Trinchera, the team concentrated its work on the offensive aspect, with particular attention to game patterns. Subsequently, a small-sided match was organised, refereed by coach Gotti himself.
The negative note was the absence of Nicola Sansone, whose involvement in the match against his former team seems to be compromised. This could limit Gotti’s options for Monday afternoon. However, despite the absences, Lecce is preparing with determination for the match against the Bianconeri, with the hope of guaranteeing their stay in Serie A for next season too.
