Marsala, Exhibition of rare and valuable ancient books at Palazzo VII Aprile: 11 and 12 May

Marsala – In Marsala, on the occasion of the Garibaldina week, at Palazzo VII Aprile 11 am May 12, 2024 from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00, an exhibition of ancient, rare and valuable books will be set up. Books, prints, engravings and other gadgets relating to the most disparate sectors of human knowledge will be exhibited.
They range from books on Italian and foreign literature to books on local history and not to texts on art and architecture including those on botany, philosophy and medicine, without forgetting those on law or mathematics, not forgetting some gems of Risorgimento history. The highlight of the event will be an exhibition of texts relating to one of the greatest Italian bibliophiles, Mario Scognamiglio, creator of the Quarterly Magazine of Bibliophilia Aesop and of theBibliophile’s Almanac. Mario Scognamiglio himself brought it to Milan International Ancient Book Exhibition and created theAldus Clubperhaps the most important Italian bibliophile club.

In short, the most avid bibliophiles will have something to lick their fingers. The exhibition will be set up and curated by Prof. Giuseppe Todaro in collaboration with Amor LibrorumSicilian bibliophile association.
