Musicoteca dei Piccoli, inauguration on 12 May in Pesaro

The Pesaro 2024 project, dedicated to sound and musical education for 0-6 year olds, is located in a new inclusive space designed to bring the little ones closer to the world of music. After May, 4 Saturday afternoon appointments until November

PESARO – Opening on Sunday 12 May 2024 (from 4pm to 8pm) a new Pesaro 2024 project which takes shape – with 5 appointments until November – in the section of the ‘industrious nature’ of culture and sees the world of schools as a privileged recipient. ‘The Children’s Music Library’ was born ‘around’ a starting idea: music is an expressive vehicle capable of involving everyone, not only in the role of simple spectators but as active protagonists of making music together and, for this reason, it needs an inclusive and welcoming space . A space that has found its home at the Garden of Santa Maria (via Santa Maria delle Fabrecce 29). The implementing body is the social promotion association LiberaMusica.

There Children’s Music Library is a project dedicated to sound and musical education for ages 0-6, available to nursery schools, nursery schools, families and musicians. Raising awareness from early childhood – which requires strong participation from families – creates a real community around a growth path based on music and being together in an inclusive and user-friendly space. The space of the Music Library is imagined to be divided into 5 different rooms: the first room for reception and the library, in which to feel welcomed and find specific books for the 0-6 year age group on a musical theme or more generally on the theme of music. ‘musical education; the second room is the luthier’s laboratory where boys and girls can experiment with the physical and concrete part of building an instrument with their own hands and will have games and instruments available to assemble to observe the visual and tactile richness that surrounds the world of music ; the third room – the sound: of earth, air and water – hosts artisanal instruments made by Terredaria, specific for the 0-6 age group, percussion instruments which are not only drums to be struck, but also large tubular bells, water percussion, etc. for a world of different sounds; in the fourth room – a thousand-year-old forest – there are interactive tools that combine craftsmanship and technology designed for the discovery of the child’s world of sound: trees that sing, leaves that vibrate and sound, instruments to touch, walk, rub; the fifth room – a theater of colors – is used for the moment of meeting, here sounds and stories will come together and here it will be possible to attend stories and shows, a micro-theatre imagined for the little ones in which the movement of the audience is part of the show.

On the occasion of the project, the book of the Musicoteca Tumpa Cucù was also created with texts and music by Elisabetta Garilli and illustrations by the students of the Urbino Book School, a fundamental part of working with children.

After the inauguration on May 12th, the calendar includes 4 other events, always on Saturday afternoon: June 8th, September 7th, October 5th, November 9th.
