Futsal Preview – Busato has clear ideas: “The real Torrita is worth Serie B: we’re going to Gubbio determined only to win”

Futsal Torrita has acquired the right to play the inter-regional playoffs among the second-placed teams, placing second in the regional championship of Tuscany, an objective already missed last year: the draw in the playoff final with Monsummano was decisive, which rewarded the team coached by Cristian Busato, certainly a well-known face on the national futsal scene. But what is the mood and condition in the group in view of this match, which among other things Torrita will play away, therefore also with the conditioning that the result of the first match of the triangular tournament will count significantly?

“The mood is high and there is excitement, given that it is a historic moment for the club, the playoffs are a goal that has never been achieved. The condition is also good, with the recovery of the injured players (apart from Derzaj, the rest of the squad will be available in Gubbio, ed.) who were absent for a good part of the season, impacting the progress of the ‘regular season’. As for the first match, yes, it can be conditioning but we don’t have to make too many calculations and we have to get on the pitch to win.”

– Without prejudice to the value of the achievement achieved, do you believe that your team is ripe for the leap in category also on the basis of the level reached by the Tuscan C1?

“If we had had everyone available during the season we would probably be talking about something else now… but this is sport and I want to say that the guys who found themselves in this situation were good at working and playing every match in the right way, without making the absences too noticeable, even though they were superior category players.”

– We said that you will play the first match in Gubbio, a small pitch and challenging a team that came close to promotion to Serie B, losing by just one point. What attitude will be needed to tackle this delicate first act in the right way?

“A lot of attention will be needed because San Martino is a difficult team to face. We will need to not be afraid to play and bring our ideas onto the pitch and, no small feat, play with the stopwatch since, alas, in Tuscany there is no real time… and this is no small detail. In addition to the difference in the number of training sessions.”

– How important was the experience you acquired at the national level, not least that of the Active Network, for the work you carried out at Torrita and the results that came from it in the last two years?

“My experience as a Serie A player first and then as a coach in B and A2 were very useful, especially in bringing a new mentality and creating a professional environment, which was neither easy nor simple; as well as bringing, thanks to my knowledge, also superior category players to increase the level not only on the pitch but also in off-pitch management. It was very important to have experienced certain situations and then be able to face them and overcome them in the right way.”
