In the administrative elections of Cagliari Azione will not officially support any candidate for mayor. But the members of the party led by Carlo Calenda they will be able to run freely on the civic lists that support the aspiring first citizens running for Palazzo Bacaredda.
The regional secretary of Action, Giuseppe Luigi Cucca, intervenes regarding the events on the participation of the party in the administrative elections in the capital: «After the so-called Campo Largo, the one that welcomed Antonello Peru’s lists in Alghero, had communicated that in Cagliari it was not available to admit the parties that had not supported the candidate Todde in the regional elections, Azione Sardegna, in agreement with the national leadership has decided not to present a list with a party symbol, not to officially support any candidate for mayor and to leave its members free to run on one or more civic lists participating in the elections”.
«This is what happened – continues Cucca -. Any different reading is the result of mystifications and exploitation by those who attempt to weaken Azione Sardegna, which instead confirms that it shares the line of the national leadership of the party, which is rightly engaged first and foremost in the historic and crucial campaign for the European elections”.
