Municipal Cagliari, Action leaves members hands free

CAGLIARI, 09 MAY – No official support from Action for the mayoral candidates of both sides in Cagliari. But whoever wants will be able to run on the civic lists that support the various aspiring first citizens. The regional secretary of Action, Giuseppe Luigi Cucca, intervenes on the events regarding the party’s participation in the administrative elections in the capital. “After the so-called Campo Largo, the one that welcomed Antonello Peru’s lists in Alghero, had communicated that in Cagliari it was not available to admit the parties that had not supported the candidate Todde in the regional elections, Azione Sardegna, in agreement with the national leadership, has decided not to present a list with a party symbol, not to officially support any candidate for mayor and to leave its members free to run on one or more civic lists participating in the elections – explains Cucca in a note – This this is what happened. Any different reading is the result of mystifications and exploitation by those who attempt to weaken Azione Sardegna, which instead confirms that it shares the line of the national leadership of the party, which is rightly engaged first and foremost in the historic and crucial campaign for the European elections”.
